For the Gale Watch, northeast winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt and seas 2 to 4 feet possible. * WHERE...Long Island Sound east of Port Jefferson and New Haven, Peconic and Gardiners Bays, and South Shore Bays from Jones Inlet through Shinnecock Bay. * WHEN...For the Small Craft Advisory, until midnight EDT Thursday night. For the Gale Watch, late Thursday night. * IMPACTS...Strong winds can cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

Synopsis
High pressure remains to the north through the weekend while deepening low pressure tracks north across the western Atlantic. There is still some uncertainty on the low track, but it may pass close to the waters at some point this weekend. The low otherwise shifts east farther out to sea on Monday.
